Highlights of game week 12

In match week 11, Manchester United slid to a shock 4-1 loss versus Watford away at Vicarage Road, resulting in the sacking of their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Chelsea continued to lead the table after prevailing by 3-0 over Leicester.

City registered an impressive 3-0 win against Everton to stay on Chelsea’s heels on the table while Liverpool made the third spot their own with an equally impressive 4-0 whitewash of Arsenal at Anfield.

Steven Gerard began his managerial career at Aston Villa with a 2-0 win over Brighton. In the bargain, Villa ended their 5-game losing streak.

Norwich City’s second victory of the league season and their first since Dean Smith took over as manager when they beat Southampton 2-1 at Carrow Road did not get them out of the relegation zone.

Despite West Ham’s 1-0 loss to Wolves, they remain in 4th position two rungs above Arsenal in sixth.

Tottenham got the first win on Antonio Conte’s watch when they beat Leeds United at home. The result put Spurs ahead of Man United on the points table. Brentford held Newcastle to a thrilling 3-3 draw, while in another six-goal game, Burnley and Crystal Palace registered the same score.

English Premier League Highlights

What to expect to see in game week 13

Arsenal vs Newcastle: Arsenal will want to bounce back after their loss to Liverpool, in game week 12. Their 17 wins in their last 18 games against the Magpies, makes them favourites.

Liverpool vs Southampton: Southampton last beat Liverpool in 2013. With 7 wins in their last 8 games against the Saints, Liverpool are unlikely to let up.

Norwich City vs Wolves: Norwich have had six wins and a draw in their last nine games. However, Wolves’ own unbeaten streak in the last 4 games with Norwich makes them favourites.

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa: Villa beat Brighton 2-0 to bust out of a 5-match losing streak in game week 12. However, Palace’s own seven-match unbeaten streak, including a stunning 2-0 win over Man City, makes them favourites.

Brighton vs Leeds: Brighton have won 8 of their 9 games against Leeds. Brighton will likely win this one to end their 7-game winless streak.

Sunday Matches

Brentford vs Everton: Both Brentford, with just one point in their last five games, and Everton, winless in their last six, will be seeking to break out of the rut. We predict a draw.

Man City vs West Ham: Man City are coming off a 3-0 drubbing of Everton, while West Ham are still smarting from a 1-0 loss to Wolves. City should prevail in a hard-fought game.

Leicester vs Watford: Leicester’s dismal recent run will give comfort to Watford who turned giant killers in week 12, beating United 4-1.

Burnley vs Tottenham: While Spurs haven’t had the best start to the season, they are unbeaten since Conte’s arrival in early November. Burnley are still in the relegation zone for a reason.

Chelsea vs Man United: Michael Carrick faces baptism by fire after taking over as United manager from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. League leaders Chelsea will be licking their collective lips in anticipation. Can you predict how these games will go?
