DC Lead the Pack

The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Captains are currently perched on top of the points table with 6 wins with half of the competition left to go. From 8 matches played, they have accumulated 2 losses and 6 wins.

Dhawan, Patel Top Batting and Bowling

DC’s Shikhar Dhawan leads the pack among the batsmen with the most runs – 380 runs each in eight innings at 54.28. Close on Dhawan’s heels is Punjab Kings’ captain KL Rahul who has made 331 runs from seven innings at 66.20. Then it is CSK’s Faf du Plessis who has scored 320 runs in seven innings at 64.00.

RCB’s Harshal Patel is the leading bowler with 17 wickets from seven innings at 15.11, followed by RR’s Chris Morris and DC’s Avesh Khan, both of whom have taken 14 wickets each.

IPL

Impressive Innings from Samson and Pollard

The first leg saw some impressive batting performances from the likes of RR’s Sanju Samson on the back of whose innings of 119 not out versus Royals, his team nearly pulled off what would have been IPL’s biggest successful chase.

RCB’s Devdutt Padikkal made his maiden IPL ton of 101 against Royals; CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja scored six sixes in an over in his match-winning innings of 62 off 28 balls versus RCB; AB De Villiers scored 74 off 41 balls to rescue RCB from a dire position to a match-winning score of 171/5 versus DC; and MI’s Kieron Pollard made 87 from 34 balls to help pull off an unlikely win, chasing a target of 220 against CSK.

Match Winning Bowling from Patel and Chahar

There were also several brilliant bowling performances. The most memorable one was RCB bowler Harshal Patel’s match-winning 5/27 versus MI in the season’s inaugural game.

In the process, Harshal became the first bowler to grab a five-for against Mumbai Indians. A few days later, Andre Russell of KKR became the second bowler to take a five-for versus defending champions MI when his 5/15 in the space of two overs helped restrict MI to a score of 152 from the relative comfort of 123/5 in the 17th over.

Unfortunately for Russell and KKR, his effort was not enough to help KKR win. Rahul Chahar proved to be another revelation during IPL 2021. The MI spinner grabbed four for 27 to inflict another defeat on KKR. Punjab Kings’ Harpreet Brar took three for 19 against RCB in another match-winning performance by a bowler in the latest edition of the IPL.

UAE Wickets Could Favour Defending Champions MI

At the halfway stage, the IPL is well-poised. Though DC, CSK and RCB are placed comfortably on the points table, things could change dramatically in the second leg, with MI most likely to improve their standing.

Indian players should study the trends of IPL 2020 that was held in the UAE and take advantage of offers from bet365 bonus code, 1xbet promo code India, Betway Bonus Code India, and Comeon Bonus Code to efficiently boost your earnings.
