Arsenal’s summer transfer window is heating up, with reports suggesting the Gunners are on the brink of securing deals for Viktor Gyokeres and two additional players. The North London club is determined to make a statement after a lackluster 2023/24 season.
Mikel Arteta’s men finished second in the Premier League for the third consecutive year but failed to lift any silverware, leaving fans hungry for success. After a slow start to the transfer window, Arsenal has recently ramped up their activity, making significant strides in bolstering their squad.
So far, the Gunners have officially welcomed three new faces: Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Christian Norgaard. These signings have already added depth to the team, but the focus remains on revamping their attack. Reports indicate Arsenal is actively scouting for a striker, winger, and attacking midfielder to elevate their frontline.
Recent developments suggest that Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze are the club’s top targets. Sources reveal that Arsenal has already agreed on a deal with Chelsea for Madueke, who is set to undergo a medical. Meanwhile, the club is ‘closing in’ on Crystal Palace’s Eze and making significant progress in negotiations for Gyokeres.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the latest developments, tweeting: “The agreement between Arsenal and Sporting for Viktor Gyökeres, getting closer after new contacts today. Negotiations between clubs never off despite reports as Gyökeres only wanted Arsenal. #AFC now willing to get closer to €70m plus €10m add-ons as Sporting want.”
Romano also hinted at two more deals that could be finalized soon. He stated: “Alongside Gyökeres deal close, Arsenal are also planning to advance on Christian Mosquera deal with Valencia next week as player only wants #AFC project… and get new deal done for Ethan Nwaneri in the next days after progress revealed yesterday.”
Nwaneri, who has been linked with a move away as his contract nears its end, appears to be staying at the Emirates. BBC journalist Sami Mokbel reports that Arsenal is preparing a “formal offer” for the young talent, likely a five-year deal or a four-year contract with an optional extension.
“Talks over fresh terms are set to accelerate in the coming days amid a will from all parties to reach an agreement. BBC Sport understands the offer will be a new five-year deal, or four with the option of a further year. While there has not been a definitive breakthrough, there is growing hope a deal can be reached with negotiations reaching an advanced stage.”
Arsenal’s transfer strategy is clearly in full swing, and fans can expect more exciting news in the coming days. For the latest updates on football transfers and match coverage, explore our exclusive insights at best football betting sites in India.
