Arsenal on brink of sealing £92.5m deal to snatch Chelsea star as agreement nears completion.

Arsenal set to seal Arteta’s first summer signing as Romano drops the ‘here we go’ on clause activation.

Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of securing a deal to bring Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga to the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners set to activate his £5 million release clause. This move comes as Mikel Arteta’s side aim to bolster their squad after another narrow miss in the Premier League title race.

Having finished second for the third consecutive season, Arsenal are determined to make significant strides in the transfer market this summer. Injuries plagued their campaign, particularly in the attacking department, leaving fans eager for marquee signings that could propel the club to silverware.

While the north London giants are yet to officially announce any new arrivals, negotiations are reportedly advancing swiftly. A striker remains the top priority, but Arteta is also keen to add depth in key areas, including goalkeeper, defensive midfield, and the wings.

With David Raya firmly established as the first-choice keeper, Arsenal are in the market for a reliable backup. Their initial target, Joan Garcia, seems destined for Barcelona, prompting a pivot to Kepa. The Spaniard, who enjoyed a standout loan spell at AFC Bournemouth, is seen as a cost-effective option given his modest release clause.

Despite a mixed tenure at Chelsea, Kepa rediscovered his form at Bournemouth, making him an attractive prospect for Arsenal. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that an agreement between the clubs is nearly finalized. “Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Kepa from Chelsea,” Romano tweeted. “A long-term contract is in place, and Kepa is ready to serve as Raya’s backup. The £5 million release clause will be activated soon.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s pursuit of a world-class striker continues, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko emerging as the leading target. German journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed that talks with the Slovenian forward are progressing positively. “Benjamin Sesko is now keen on a move to Arsenal,” Plettenberg tweeted. “Negotiations over personal terms are advancing, and the atmosphere between all parties is transparent. A deal is on!”

Sesko’s transfer, however, is far from straightforward. While his release clause initially stood at €80 million, it has reportedly increased, and Arsenal are negotiating a fee in the range of €80–100 million. RB Leipzig maintains a strong relationship with the player, and Sesko is said to be calmly awaiting the final agreements.

As Arsenal fans eagerly await the club’s first summer signings, the potential additions of Kepa and Sesko could provide the edge needed to transform Arteta’s squad into genuine title contenders.
