Arsenal poised to up the ante with fresh Viktor Gyokeres bid as deadline looms amid striker saga.

Arsenal poised to up the ante with fresh Viktor Gyokeres bid as deadline looms amid striker saga.

Arsenal are poised to make a fresh bid for Sporting Lisbon’s rising star, Viktor Gyokeres, as the Gunners aim to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season. The Swedish forward, who has also caught the attention of Manchester United, is emerging as a prime target for Mikel Arteta’s squad.

It’s no secret that Arsenal desperately need a new striker. Last season’s struggles in front of goal highlighted the gaping hole in their attack, exacerbated by injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. With Bukayo Saka shouldering much of the offensive burden, the North London club knows they must act swiftly to secure a top-tier forward who can deliver consistently.

Gyokeres has been a revelation in Europe, establishing himself as a contender for the continent’s top scorer title. His prolific form has made him an enticing alternative to RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who remains on Arsenal’s radar but opted to extend his stay in Germany. The 22-year-old Sesko was initially Arsenal’s top target, but his high financial demands have reportedly frustrated the club’s hierarchy, forcing them to reconsider their strategy.

According to Portuguese outlets, Arsenal are preparing to table a new offer for Gyokeres after an initial verbal proposal of around €65 million failed to convince Sporting Lisbon. While the exact figure of the renewed bid remains undisclosed, sources suggest the Gunners are keen to finalize the deal ahead of their pre-season tour of Asia, kicking off with a clash against AC Milan on July 23.

However, not everyone is convinced Gyokeres is the right fit for Arsenal. Former Gunners defender William Gallas has urged the club to pursue Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak instead. “Isak is perfect for Arsenal,” Gallas stated in an interview with Prime Casino. “He’s a 20-goal-a-season striker who would adapt instantly and give Arsenal the best chance of winning the Premier League. They need guaranteed goals, and Isak delivers that.”

As the transfer saga unfolds, Arsenal fans are left wondering whether Gyokeres, Sesko, or Isak will don the famous red and white next season. One thing is certain: Arteta and his team cannot afford another missed opportunity in the transfer market.
