In a surprising turn of events, Arsenal has decided to part ways with one of Mikel Arteta’s earlier signings, Brazilian winger Marquinhos. The young talent is set to return to his home country permanently, marking the end of a mixed stint in North London.

Earlier this year, he joined Cruzeiro on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for approximately £2.5 million. According to The Standard, Cruzeiro has decided to exercise that option, confirming Marquinhos’ permanent departure from Arsenal.
Arteta’s Search for a New Winger
With Marquinhos now out of the picture, Arteta is reportedly keen on bolstering his wide options. The Gunners have been linked with a move for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, though reports suggest he may opt to renew his contract in Spain. Another target, Bryan Mbeumo, appears to favor a move to Manchester United, leaving Arsenal’s pursuit in doubt.
While the search for a winger continues, Arsenal’s primary focus seems to be on strengthening their attacking midfield position. Both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko are high on the club’s wishlist, though it remains unclear which player Arteta prefers.
