Arsenal are intensifying their pursuit of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, as one of their key players has reportedly agreed to a surprising move to Fenerbahce after being swayed by Jose Mourinho’s vision.
Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are leaving no stone unturned in their mission to strengthen Arsenal’s squad this summer. Following the signings of Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Gunners made headlines by announcing the arrival of Christian Norgaard from Brentford on Thursday.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Christian to Arsenal,” Arteta told the club’s official website. “He’s a seasoned international with extensive Premier League experience. His leadership qualities, tactical intelligence, and physical presence will add depth and balance to our midfield. Christian is a perfect fit for our project, and we’re excited to begin this new chapter with him.”
As if that wasn’t enough, The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed on Friday that Arsenal are on the verge of sealing their fourth summer signing. The club has reportedly agreed to a £52 million deal with Chelsea for the services of Noni Madueke.
Ornstein tweeted: “Noni Madueke has been granted permission by Chelsea to leave their USA camp and undergo a medical before finalizing his move to Arsenal. The 23-year-old will not train with Chelsea and is flying to the UK today after a full agreement was reached. A five-year contract with Arsenal is in place.”
Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Arsenal are preparing to ‘step up’ their efforts to sign Eze. The Gunners have already initiated talks with the player’s representatives, and their pursuit has been bolstered by UEFA’s decision to demote Crystal Palace from the Europa League next season.
The report highlights: “The England forward has a £67.5 million release clause, and Arsenal are planning to engage with Palace’s chairman, Steve Parish, to discuss a potential transfer. However, Palace is unlikely to entertain offers below their valuation.”
Amid these developments, Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has reportedly agreed to a shock move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. According to The Sun, Trossard is eager for a new challenge and was convinced to make the switch after Mourinho personally outlined his vision for the club.
The 30-year-old is expected to depart if the right fee is agreed upon, with the deal potentially rising to £17 million, including add-ons. Trossard is also set to receive a significant pay rise in the process.
