Liverpool’s Slot starter eyes Barcelona move, shaking the transfer tree to push for exit.

Liverpool seals Slot’s top summer target with contract details and deal now in final talks.

Luis Diaz Set for Barcelona Move: Liverpool Star Forces Exit

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz appears to have his sights firmly set on a summer transfer to Barcelona, according to recent reports. The Colombian winger, who has been instrumental for the Reds, seems ready to bid farewell to Anfield in pursuit of a new challenge in La Liga.

Liverpool, having clinched the Premier League title in April with a commanding ten-point lead over Arsenal, are already planning their next moves in the transfer market. With Champions League qualification secured, manager Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes are focusing on strengthening the squad.

Recent signings include Jeremie Frimpong, who joins from Bayer Leverkusen for £29.5 million, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold as the latter heads to Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Liverpool are in advanced talks to secure Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen, another exciting addition to their midfield. Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez is also reportedly close to a move, with personal terms already agreed.

However, departures are inevitable, and Diaz’s potential exit has caught the attention of Barcelona. Reports from Mundo Deportivo suggest that Diaz has turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia and is pushing for a move to the Catalan giants. He is reportedly Barcelona’s top priority to bolster their attack this summer, ahead of Marcus Rashford and Nico Williams.

Diaz has allegedly agreed on personal terms with Barcelona and is actively seeking to force his departure from Liverpool. His agent has reportedly informed the club of Diaz’s desire to leave, with the Catalan side hoping to negotiate a fee lower than Liverpool’s asking price of €85 million (£72 million).

However, Colombian journalist Carlos Antonio Velez has cautioned Diaz against the move, questioning whether swapping Liverpool for Barcelona, where he could end up as Raphinha’s backup, is a wise decision. “Seriously? Is it worth leaving where you are to join a team that plays in Champions League finals every 10 or more years and/or to be Raphinha’s backup? It doesn’t even seem like a decent deal…think about it, Lucho!!!” Velez remarked.

Former Barcelona striker Bojan also weighed in, suggesting that Barcelona should prioritize Marcus Rashford over Diaz. “Luis Diaz is a great player but he lacks consistency in performance. If I were at Barca, I wouldn’t sign him. He’s a player who works wonders for you and then disappears for three games. Or he gives you a brutal half-hour and disappears. I’d sign [Marcus] Rashford before Luis Diaz. He gives me the option to play as a number nine,” Bojan told Cadena SER.

Liverpool fans will undoubtedly await further developments in this transfer saga, as Diaz’s potential departure could mark a significant shift in the club’s attacking lineup next season.
