Carragher went on to praise Arteta’s bravery in making the switch, stating, “It was one of Mikel Arteta’s best decisions. It was bold, especially with Ramsdale being a fan favorite, but Arsenal were never going to achieve greatness with him in goal. They haven’t won anything major with Raya yet, but it was still the right call.”
Wright’s Take: Raya’s Influence
Arsenal legend Ian Wright also heaped praise on Raya, suggesting he could be the club’s Player of the Season. “He looked a bit shaky against Newcastle, but then he made a couple of crucial saves,” Wright said. “Considering how many draws we’ve had this season, I don’t know where we’d be without him.”
