Prepare for a thrilling cricket showcase as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed that Bangladesh will tour Pakistan in May for an electrifying five-match T20 International series, scheduled to take place from the 25th of May to the 3rd of June.
Contrary to the originally planned series that included three One Day Internationals (ODIs), the tournament has undergone a strategic reshuffle. With the Asia Cup on the horizon and the 2025 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup drawing closer, the PCB and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCY) have collectively decided to replace the ODIs with additional T20 matches.
This series aims to provide both teams with valuable match practice as they gear up for the major cricketing events ahead.
Cricket fans are eagerly anticipating international matches returning to the historical Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad after a prolonged hiatus of 17 years, since its last international ODI against Bangladesh in April 2008. The first duel of these high-octane T20 games is set to begin on May 25th, followed by the second match on May 27th in Faisalabad.
The fierce competition will then shift to the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where the remaining three matches will unfold on May 03, June 1, and June 3, promising unforgettable cricketing action.
The PCB announced, “This revamped series marks an ambitious strategy under the Future Tour’s Programme (FTP). Originally planned with three ODI and three T20I encounters, the anticipation of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup next year has compelled both nations to pivot towards maximizing their T20 preparations.”
