In a dramatic twist of the transfer saga, Manchester United have reportedly struck a deal to send Jadon Sancho to the illustrious Italian powerhouse, Juventus. This development, as per sources in Italy, marks a pivotal moment in the summer transfer window.
Sancho, who spent the previous season on loan at Chelsea, had an intriguing clause in his contract. The Blues could have secured his services permanently for £25 million, but they chose to pay a £5 million fee to waive this obligation. During his stint at Stamford Bridge, the 25-year-old winger netted five goals and delivered ten assists, playing a crucial role in their triumphant Europa Conference League campaign.
Despite being scheduled to return for pre-season training on Monday, Sancho has made it clear to Manchester United that his time at Old Trafford is over. He has decided to skip the training sessions alongside teammates like Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia, signaling his intent to depart once again—this time on a permanent basis.
United, eager to offload his hefty salary, may not secure a fee higher than the £25 million agreed upon with Chelsea last summer. However, the priority remains reducing the wage bill, a move that could free up resources for other transfers.

The primary stumbling block in Sancho’s potential move to Juventus is his substantial wage demands. Juventus, though keen on the English international, are yet to bridge the gap in negotiations. According to Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), the Turin-based club is intensifying efforts to finalize the deal. However, Sancho’s salary remains ‘the current big problem.’
United and Juventus had previously discussed a loan deal for Sancho last summer, but Chelsea’s willingness to cover his wages led him to Stamford Bridge instead. Now, Juventus are eyeing a permanent transfer, albeit hindered by the player’s £8.6 million annual salary. Reports suggest there is ‘an agreement with Manchester United,’ with two options on the table: ‘an exchange involving Douglas Luiz or a straight purchase’ valued at £21.5 million plus add-ons.
Despite Sancho’s enthusiasm for the move and his willingness to accept a reduced salary, the negotiations have hit a snag. While the winger is hoping for £7 million a year, Juventus are offering between £5-6 million—a figure deemed ‘unsustainable’ for the Serie A giants, who are actively working to reduce their wage bill this summer.
To facilitate the deal, Juventus are reportedly open to selling striker Dusan Vlahovic, whose departure could provide the necessary funds to bring Sancho to Turin.
