The report suggests that United’s interest in Ronald Araujo could be a game-changer. The Uruguayan defender, known for his powerful and quick style, is reportedly a top target for the Red Devils. While Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, is said to value Araujo at around €60 million (£51 million), the club is reportedly open to accepting a lower offer, with sources indicating that United might be willing to table a bid close to €50 million (£42 million).
United’s focus, however, isn’t limited to bolstering their defense. The club is also reportedly eyeing reinforcements in attack. With talks ongoing to secure Matheus Cunha from Wolves and interest in PSG’s Goncalo Ramos, United’s attention has also turned to Sporting’s Francisco Trincao. The winger, who was signed by Sporting for just £5 million after an initial loan spell, has been in impressive form this season, contributing eight goals and 15 assists in the Portuguese top flight. Sporting is reportedly holding out for at least €40 million (£34 million) for the 25-year-old, a move that could benefit Barcelona significantly, as they hold a 50% sell-on clause for Trincao.
