Nat Sciver-Brunt has officially been named the new captain of the England Women’s cricket team, taking over the reins from Heather Knight following the 2025 Women’s Ashes. The announcement comes alongside the appointment of new head coach Charlotte Edwards, with Sciver-Brunt set to lead across all formats of the game.
Since her debut in 2013, Sciver-Brunt has been a cornerstone of the England squad. With 259 international caps, 181 wickets, and an impressive ODI batting average of 45.91, she has cemented her status as one of cricket’s finest all-rounders. Her leadership experience includes stepping in as interim captain during the 2022 Commonwealth Games, showcasing her ability to handle pressure at the highest level.

The England Women’s team will kick off their summer campaign on May 21 with a home series against the West Indies, followed by matches against India.
