Kyle Walker admits he’d trade a Premier League crown for Spurs silverware in a heartbeat!

England and Manchester City’s stalwart defender, Kyle Walker, has made a jaw-dropping revelation that has sent shockwaves through the football world. The seasoned full-back declared he would trade one of his coveted Premier League titles for a trophy with his former club, Tottenham Hotspur. Despite spending eight illustrious years at Spurs, Walker left without lifting silverware. However, the recent euphoria of Tottenham ending their 17-year trophy drought by clinching the Europa League—after a thrilling victory over Manchester United—seems to have reignited his emotional connection to the club.

Walker, who was instrumental in Tottenham’s second-place finish in the 2017 Premier League season before his high-profile move to Manchester City, has since become a cornerstone of City’s golden era. With the Citizens, he has amassed an enviable collection of six Premier League titles, four English League Cups, two FA Cups, two Community Shields, a UEFA Champions League trophy, a UEFA Super Cup, and a FIFA Club World Cup. Yet, it’s the one that got away that still haunts him.

During a candid conversation on The Kyle Walker Podcast, he revealed, “I’d probably give up one Premier League to win that [the Europa League] with Tottenham. I would, if I could change it, just to say that I was in that Spurs squad that won a trophy, [the first] since 2007. I know what it means. I’d give my second [PL title], it’s hard to give one away, but for what that moment meant, I would.”

Kyle Walker’s Manchester City Journey Nears Its End

Walker also reflected on his former teammate and Spurs captain, Son Heung-Min, sharing, “I remember him walking through the door from Leverkusen, it was like a rabbit in headlights, there were big characters back there. It was just nice personally for him. To go all that time, getting to all those finals, being that nearly person but then to finally do it.”

However, Walker’s chapter at Manchester City appears to be drawing to a close. After a loan stint at AC Milan in January 2025, he returned to City only to be excluded from their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 squad. Recent reports suggest Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, under the management of Jose Mourinho, are actively pursuing his signature, making a serious approach to secure the veteran defender.
